For 11 seasons, “The Camp Woodward Show” has been filmed at the Woodward location in Pennsylvania and, for the first time for Season 12, the show will hit the road from California to Pennsylvania together with skateboarding icon and former camper, Ryan Sheckler’s Sandlot Times Tour.

Sheckler, who first attended Woodward as a camper at age seven, has been a part of the Woodward family for the past 24 years, including hosting last season’s show and most recently brought on as the Woodward Skate Program Designer. For Sheckler, leading by example is the most effective way to inspire the next generation of campers joining the skate culture. He will continue this mission with the campers and cast of Season 12 all while promoting the Sandlot Times Tour with his foundation’s “Skate for a Cause” mission to support various organizations in each of these five communities. Some of this year’s plans include monetary grants to foundations such as Stoked Mentoring and adaptive athlete equipment grants to the Challenged Athletes Foundation.

“We couldn’t be more excited about combining the efforts between Woodward and Sandlot Times,” says Woodward Marketing Director, Mikayla Schutz. “Ryan is such an incredible mentor and so dedicated to Woodward when it comes to growing the sport of skateboarding. We are excited to share his impact on the next generation across the country.”

The Camp Woodward Show” first show debuted in 2008, and 11 seasons later, the result is a coming-of-age reality series where aspiring athletes test their skills during the most exciting week of their lives - one can say the future stars of skateboarding are born on the show as previous seasons include some of the biggest names and Olympians such as Zion Wright, Jamie Foy, Brighton Zeuner and Jagger Eaton. Season 11 clip with Ryan Sheckler can be seen here.

“Skateboarding is fun and my goal for Sandlot Times is to provide a creative platform that elevates the next generation of up and coming skateboarders by changing the narrative,” said Sheckler. “This is Woodward’s mission as well to provide a facility and the resources to help youth skateboarding to the next level. This collaboration is a perfect fit, and we get to help kids along the way across the country!”
